
Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The total number of points of sale (PoS) transactions in Saudi Arabia recorded 891.5 million in April, with sales exceeding SAR 52.2 billion, according to recent figures by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).
SAMA’s monthly bulletin revealed that the food and beverages (F&B) sector seized the largest share of PoS sales in April at SAR 7.78 billion, closely followed by the restaurants and cafés sector at SAR 7.74 billion.
Meanwhile, the number of e-commerce transactions via Mada cards surpassed 132 million, generating sales worth over SAR 23.2 billion.
These figures underscore Saudi Arabia’s rapidly evolving digital economy, backed by strong consumer spending in key sectors, robust infrastructure, and growing adoption of cashless payments.
