Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: The Esports World Cup Foundation announced Mastercard’s participation once more as an official supplier for the 2025 Esports World Cup, set to take place in Riyadh from 7 July to 24 August.
The renewed collaboration reflects Mastercard’s continued investment in Saudi Arabia’s fast-growing gaming scene and youth-focused digital initiatives, as per an official press release.
As part of the partnership, Mastercard will roll out a series of immersive fan activations, including an upgraded Mastercard Gamer Academy in partnership with G2 Esports. Ten selected participants will be mentored by professional players to explore careers in esports. Fans will also be able to collect “Priceless Points” through interactive games at the Mastercard booth to win gaming gear, while G2 Esports players will host live fireside chats on the esports industry.
The initiative aims to spotlight Saudi talent and bridge gaming, tech, and culture. Saud Swar, Mastercard’s Country Manager, said the collaboration supports Vision 2030 goals by empowering youth and promoting digital inclusion.
This year’s Esports World Cup will feature 25 tournaments across 24 titles, welcoming over 2,000 players and 200 clubs from 100+ countries, with a record $70 million prize pool.
