Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Skyroads, a leading developer of automated airspace management and vehicle guidance systems based in Munich, plans to establish a manufacturing facility in Riyadh with investments amounting to $200 million, according to CEO Corvin Huber.
The expansion into Saudi Arabia was driven by the Kingdom’s efforts to create a supportive environment for innovation and development, in addition to the robust political and financial infrastructure, Huber stated in an interview with Al Eqtisadiah newspaper on the sidelines of the Saudi Drone Exhibition 2025.
He clarified that a consortium led by Skyroads plans to invest from $600 million to $800 million in manufacturing facilities in Saudi Arabia, with plans to inject more across different Saudi cities.
Huber noted that developing an airspace management system for air taxis will cost investments ranging between $1 billion and $2 billion.
Skyroads further aspires to attract young talent to contribute to shaping the future of the air transport industry in Saudi Arabia over the next decades.
Skyroads develops an automated airspace management and vehicle guidance system to guide passenger and cargo drones over densely populated urban areas, even in challenging environments. Its system enables urban air transport to scale safely and efficiently by paving an approvable path to automation.
