Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with U.S.-based Archer Aviation to introduce air taxi services across Saudi Arabia.
As per a post by GACA on X.com, the agreement was finalized during the CoMotion Global Summit 2025 at Riyadh’s King Abdullah Financial District.
The partnership supports GACA’s push to develop the Kingdom’s Advanced Air Mobility system, a key pillar in efforts to adopt next-generation transportation and position Saudi cities as hubs for future mobility.
Under the MoU, GACA and Archer will work together to update and refine regulations for operating vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft, ensuring they remain aligned with U.S. Federal Aviation Administration certification standards.
The collaboration also includes test flights and pilot operations to validate regulations, guide infrastructure planning, and gauge public readiness for air taxi services.
