Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s participation in the 2026 Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos reflects the Kingdom’s expanding influence in shaping global economic priorities, according to Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Alibrahim.

In remarks to the Saudi Press Agency, Alibrahim said the Kingdom’s engagement highlights the progress of its economic transformation under Vision 2030 and its active role in global development efforts.

The Minister pointed to the steady expansion of the non-oil economy, noting that over the past five years, 74 out of 81 non-oil activities posted annual growth above 5%, while 38 recorded growths exceeding 10%, underscoring a broad-based strengthening of the Kingdom’s productive capacity.

He added that WEF 2026 will emphasize deeper international cooperation through inclusive growth models, with digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and human capital development identified as key drivers.

Alibrahim also noted that the meeting builds on the outcomes of the World Economic Forum’s special gathering in Riyadh in 2024, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s position as a platform for dialogue on sustainable and resilient economic models.
