Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The Saudi-based quick-commerce group, Ninja, is working with a group of Saudi and global investment banks to acquire certain assets of Delivery Hero in the Kingdom and the UAE.
The Saudi company appointed Goldman Sachs, Citi, UBS, and Riyad Capital as advisers on the potential transaction, people familiar with the matter told Asharq Business.
Last week, Ninja announced its plans to acquire Delivery Hero’s Saudi food delivery platform, HungerStation, as it explores expansion opportunities that could reshape the region’s delivery market. This strategy includes acquiring other regional assets owned by Delivery Hero, including parts of Dubai-based Talabat.
Founded in 2022, Ninja reached unicorn status within three years after surpassing a valuation of $1 billion. Unlike traditional food delivery platforms, the company operates a network of dark stores focused primarily on grocery and household product deliveries.
