Existing commercial registers in the Saudi e-commerce sector reached 48,497, marking a 23% increase

Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia's e-commerce and logistics sectors continue to attract significant investment and business registrations, driven by the young, tech-savvy population and Vision 2030’s economic diversification goal.

According to the latest quarterly report released by the Ministry of Commerce, the number of existing registers in the e-commerce sector rose by 23% to 48,497 by the end of the second quarter (Q2) of 2026. Riyadh obtained the largest share with 21,388 existing registers, followed by Makkah Province with 12,269 registers and the Eastern Province with 7,235 registers.

These numbers reinforce Saudi Arabia’s position among the top ten fastest-growing e-commerce markets worldwide. They also underscore the Kingdom’s efforts to promote the e-commerce sector, in line with the objectives of the National Transformation Program (NTP).

Additionally, the number of existing commercial registers in the logistics sector witnessed a 25% increase in Q2-26 to 29,856. Riyadh received 13,959 registers, while Makkah Province obtained 7,810 registers.

On the other hand, the report highlighted that the AI technologies sector saw a 33% increase in the number of existing registers to 22,591 in Q2-26. As usual, Riyadh led the list with 13,926 registers, followed by Makkah (4,353 registers) and the Eastern Province (2,328 registers).
