Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Microsoft Arabia to drive innovation in the generative AI (genAI) in Saudi Arabia.
Under this agreement, both parties will join efforts to foster innovation in genAI, focusing mainly on Arabic large language models (LLMs), the authority revealed in a statement.
The MoU was finalized by Yaser Al-Onaizan, CEO of the National Center for AI at SDAIA, during the Global AI Summit which took place from 10 to 12 September.
SDAIA and Microsoft will develop a strategy to tap into global markets and provide training and academic programs in AI and data science fields for different educational stages.
The third edition of the Global AI Summit, gathered global figures, economic policymakers, and artificial intelligence (AI) specialists from 100 countries.
It aimed to tackle challenges in AI development and address several issues such as human capacities, technical infrastructure, ethics, bias and fairness, national security, information security, and the economic and social impacts of AI.
