Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef invited global industry leaders to partake in the 2024 Multilateral Industrial Policy Forum (MIPF) that will take place in the Saudi capital on 23 and 24 October.
The minister made this announcement during the pre-launch event of the MIPF that was held in New York, in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
The event showcased the Kingdom’s plans to host the 21st General Conference of UNIDO in 2025, which will gather industry ministers and leaders in industrial transformation from around the world, along with officials from the Saudi industrial and mining sectors.
In his opening speech, Alkhorayef said: “Saudi Arabia is honored to host the 21st UNIDO General Conference in Riyadh in November 2025, marking a significant milestone in our industrial journey. We invite all member states and stakeholders to join us in shaping the future of sustainable industrial development.”
He highlighted the Kingdom’s efforts to design and launch industrial and mining strategies that tackle global issues such as supply chain disruptions and energy transitions.
The minister further affirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to integrating technology and innovation to drive the growth of the human capital sector.
The MIPF 2024, co-organized by the Saudi Industry Ministry and UNIDO, will focus on advancing effective industrial policy solutions and tools to tackle sustainable industrialization challenges.
Guided by the motto “Making Industrial Policy Work for SDGs”, the conference will cover three main themes: AI, digitalization and automation in manufacturing; energy transition; and sustainable and resilient supply chains.
It will feature several ministerial and high-level roundtables, fireside chats, and a conversation with youth, as well as several technical game-changer sessions.
