Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: New Murabba Development Company signed a strategic agreement with Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Company to deploy electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across key assets within the New Murabba development, supporting Saudi Arabia’s shift toward sustainable mobility.
As per a recent press release, this partnership will see EVIQ roll out EV charging stations throughout the 19-square-kilometer urban destination currently under development in Riyadh. The initiative forms part of New Murabba’s strategy to integrate future-ready infrastructure from the early stages of construction while enabling smart and seamless mobility for residents, visitors, and employees.
Planned as a major mixed-use district, New Murabba will include more than 100,000 residential units, over 10,000 hotel rooms, as well as schools, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities. At the center of the development will be The Mukaab, a large mixed-use landmark integrating retail, hospitality, tourism, cultural, residential, and commercial components.
The developer said the agreement reflects its commitment to building a globally competitive destination aligned with Saudi Arabia’s sustainability ambitions and Saudi Vision 2030.
EVIQ, a joint venture between Public Investment Fund and Saudi Electricity Company, is working to expand EV adoption in the Kingdom through the development of a nationwide network of fast-charging infrastructure. The company aims to deploy more than 5,000 EV chargers across strategic locations throughout Saudi Arabia.
