Cairo – Sharikat Mubasher: Egypt-based e-commerce enablement startup Wuilt announced closing a $2 million funding round led by Flat6Labs and MTF VC, with participation from Hub71, JIMCO (the VC arm of Abdul Latif Jameel), Purity Tech, and several angel investors.
According to a press release, the funding follows Wuilt’s bold pivot in April 2025 to eliminate all subscription fees in Egypt, shifting focus to merchant acquisition and growth. The move has attracted over 20,000 new merchants to the platform.
Founded in 2019 by Ahmed Rostom and Mahmoud Metwaly, Wuilt now monetizes through value-added services such as Wuilt Shipments, Wuilt Pay, and Wuilt Wallet. The startup plans to launch its free platform in the UAE by Q4 2025, with further expansion into the GCC and Turkey set for early 2026.
Wuilt is also developing AI-driven tools to help merchants streamline operations. Its long-term goal is to become the backbone of digital commerce for small businesses and social sellers across the MENA region.
