Riyadh gears up for Global Health Exhibition as investments surge in biotech, pharmaceuticals, and digital health

Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Ministry of Health expects the private sector’s contribution to the healthcare industry to exceed SAR 145 billion by 2030, reflecting the Kingdom’s drive to strengthen public-private partnerships under the Health Transformation Program and Vision 2030, according to Khalid Alburikan, Deputy Minister of Health for Investment.

Alburikan told Asharq Business that investment opportunities span a wide range of fields from traditional healthcare services to pharmaceutical manufacturing, biotechnology, and digital health solutions. He noted growing momentum in medical tourism, health digitization, and biopharmaceutical localization, all aimed at bolstering Saudi Arabia’s pharmaceutical security and innovation capacity.

The announcement comes ahead of the 8th Global Health Exhibition in Riyadh, scheduled from  27 to 30 October under the theme “Invest in Health.” The event will gather international experts, investors, and innovators to exchange knowledge and highlight the latest advancements in healthcare and digital technology.

Reflecting on last year’s edition, Alburikan said it marked a major success, generating over SAR 50 billion in investments, including localization agreements for seven insulin products; a milestone that further strengthened the Kingdom’s pharmaceutical self-sufficiency and healthcare resilience.
