
Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The total number of fintech companies operating in Saudi Arabia reached 371 by the end of August 2026, according to Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) Governor Ayman Al-Sayari.
In his keynote speech at Money20/20 Middle East, Al-Sayari noted that the cumulative investment in the Saudi fintech sector surpassed SAR 30 million by the end of the first half of 2026, secured from venture capital and strategic financing.
These figures reflect the exceptional growth and significant expansion in innovative activities and solutions across the Kingdom.
The Governor revealed that the share of electronic payment methods in the Kingdom is progressing rapidly, reaching 85% of total retail payment transactions by the end of 2025.
Al-Sayari highlighted SAMA’s efforts to build and develop shared and accessible infrastructure, accelerate the introduction of new products and services to the markets, and maintain the stability and inclusivity of the financial system.
He also emphasized the central bank’s commitment to encouraging innovators within the promising local ecosystem by supporting innovative business models.
