Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), one of the world’s largest construction companies, is currently implementing 12 projects in Saudi Arabia as it seeks to expand its role in infrastructure and sports projects, including those linked to major international sporting events.

Speaking to Al Eqtisadiah on the sidelines of the Saudi Mega Projects Summit 2026 in Riyadh, Louis Ouyang, Deputy General Manager of CSCEC, said the company entered the Saudi market in 2022 and currently works with Diriyah Company, Qiddiya, and NEOM.

Among its key Saudi projects are King Salman Knowledge District, the Royal Opera District, infrastructure projects in Diriyah, Diriyah Avenue, and the Northwest Transport Hub in Qiddiya.

Ouyang said the King Salman Knowledge District project is valued at around $2 billion, while the Royal Opera District is worth about $1.3 billion. Diriyah Avenue and Qiddiya’s Northwest Transport Hub have a combined value of around $600 million.

CSCEC is also seeking opportunities in projects related to Expo 2030 and sports stadiums, as Saudi Arabia prepares to host major international sporting events.
