Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Qualcomm Technologies and Saudi Arabia’s national AI champion HUMAIN signed an MoU to collaborate on next-generation AI data centers and cloud-to-edge infrastructure.
The agreement, formalized during the Saudi-US Investment Forum in Riyadh, aims to meet rising global and regional demand for AI services, as per a recent press release.
The collaboration includes plans to develop AI data centers in Saudi Arabia using Qualcomm’s edge and data center solutions. As part of the partnership, Qualcomm and HUMAIN will work with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to launch a Qualcomm Design Center in the Kingdom. The center will support semiconductor design, training, and startup initiatives, advancing the country’s ambition to become a global hub for chip development.
Cristiano Amon, Qualcomm’s CEO, said the partnership supports Saudi Arabia’s AI and semiconductor goals under Vision 2030. Tareq Amin, HUMAIN CEO, added that the collaboration lays the groundwork for a scalable AI ecosystem with economic and innovation benefits. Minister Abdullah Alswaha emphasized that the initiative strengthens Saudi leadership in edge-to-cloud AI and helps cultivate local talent in advanced technologies.
