Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Avilog Logistics Services Company (Avilog), a JV between Albawardi Group and Al Muhaidib Group, acquired a 49% stake in SATS Saudi Arabia Company (SATS SA), a subsidiary of SATS, the global leader in gateway services and a leading food solutions provider in Asia.

In a recent statement, SATS announced the formal completion of Avilog’s strategic investment in SATS SA after receiving all regulatory approvals.

This strategic partnership was concluded during a ceremony attended by Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), Ayman AboAbah, CEO of Riyadh Airports Company, and representatives from the Saudi Ministry of Investment.

Through this partnership, SATS SA plans to expand its infrastructure by developing a new cutting-edge facility in Jeddah, which is expected to have an annual capacity of 300,000 tons upon completion in 2027. The company also aspires to broaden its reach into multi-modal logistics across Saudi Arabia.

Further, this collaboration will enable SATS SA to deliver seamless, integrated cargo solutions tailored to Saudi Arabia’s evolving logistics landscape, leveraging Avilog’s deep local expertise and established infrastructure

Isam Al Muhaidib, Chairman of Avilog, stated that the partnership marks a defining step in the company's journey to reshape the Saudi logistics sector. “By combining SATS’ industry-leading expertise in gateway services with Avilog’s strong local foundation, we are uniquely positioned to support Vision 2030 and build a logistics ecosystem that is innovative, efficient, and globally competitive,” he said.

Meanwhile, Bob Chi, SATS’ CEO of Gateway Services in Asia Pacific, commented: “The completion of this investment marks an important milestone for our Saudi Arabia operations. With our established facilities across the Kingdom’s key aviation hubs, we can now harness Avilog’s extensive regional network and deep market understanding.”

He highlighted that the partnership will allow SATS to strengthen its ability to create integrated logistics solutions that connect air cargo seamlessly with sea, rail, and road transportation across the Kingdom.

Moreover, the partnership reflects the shared commitment of both parties to drive innovation and operational excellence in Saudi Arabia’s logistics sector and create new opportunities throughout the Kingdom.
