Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s flag carrier Saudia is in advanced negotiations with SpaceX to install Starlink satellite internet across its fleet of more than 140 aircraft, as reported by Bloomberg.
The potential deal would mark a major step for SpaceX in the Middle East’s in-flight connectivity market, where local rival Neo Space Group is also rolling out satellite-based services.
SpaceX has also held preliminary talks with other Gulf carriers, including Emirates, Flydubai, and Gulf Air, though no agreements have been reached.
Industry insiders noted that regulatory hurdles remain, particularly in the UAE, where Starlink has yet to receive authorization.
