Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The Saudi Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Company (EVIQ), owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), plans to inaugurate 60 EV charging stations across key Saudi cities by the end of 2025, according to CEO Mohammad Gazzaz.

The stations will be located in Riyadh, Jeddah, and the Eastern Provinces, and on several highways, notably the Jeddah - Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah Highway and Riyadh - Qassim Highway, Gazzaz stated in an interview with Al Eqtisadiah newspaper.

He highlighted that the EV market in Saudi Arabia has witnessed rapid growth within the past two years, driven by the entry of global companies such as Mercedes, BMW, BYD, and Tesla.

By 2030, EVIQ plans to install nearly 5,000 fast chargers and establish over 1,000 EV charging hubs across Saudi Arabia. To achieve these goals, EVIQ inaugurated a research and development (R&D) facility to test a wide range of chargers and software to ensure the deployment of best-in-class equipment and related software.
