Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia now ranks first in the Middle East and third globally in the Digital Government Maturity Index, according to Ahmed Alsuwaiyan, Governor of the Digital Government Authority.

Alsuwaiyan made the announcement at the opening of the Digital Government Forum 2025 in its fourth edition, held under the theme “Our Future Is Now,” with the participation of local and international digital transformation leaders and experts.

Alsuwaiyan added that small and medium-sized enterprises accounted for 9.16 billion riyals, around 24% of total government procurement in 2024. He noted this reflects the government’s commitment to supporting private sector growth and SME participation in the national economy.

Alsuwaiyan also highlighted the rapid expansion of government cloud services, with adoption rising to 41% by the third quarter of 2025, compared to just 14% in 2021. More than 156 government entities have migrated to cloud solutions, with total spending exceeding 25 billion riyals, signaling a major shift toward more efficient and secure digital infrastructure.
