
Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Transport Minister Saleh Al-Jasser announced that private sector investments, both local and international, in the Kingdom’s transport and logistics sector have exceeded SAR 280 billion. The direct contribution of transport and storage activities to the national GDP reached 6.2%.
Speaking at the Supply Chain and Logistics Conference 2025, Al-Jasser highlighted a 34% increase in air freight compared to last year, reaching 1.2 million tons. Employment in transport and storage also rose by 28% by mid-2025 compared to the previous year.
The minister added that Saudi Arabia’s aviation and air transport sector is entering an unprecedented phase of expansion, with major developments in airports and aircraft fleets.
He also noted that the number of logistics centers has grown by around 30, supporting economic diversification and positioning the Kingdom as a key player in global supply chains.
Taking place on 15-16 December in Riyadh, the Supply Chain and Logistics Conference is an annual industry event in Saudi Arabia that brings together decision‑makers, experts, and stakeholders from both local and international supply chain, transport, and logistics sectors. It serves as a strategic platform for exchanging insights, showcasing best practices, exploring technological innovations, and forging partnerships to enhance the performance and efficiency of supply chains and logistics services across the Kingdom.
