
Cairo - Sharikat Mubasher: The inaugural edition of AI Everything Middle East and Africa, the world's all-AI expo and summit, kicks off today in Cairo, bringing together global technology companies, policymakers, investors, startups, and AI experts from more than 60 countries.
This two-day event is organized by GITEX GLOBAL under the auspices of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, in partnership with the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA).
Under the theme “ Powering Egypt’s Rise in the Global AI Economy, the summit showcases Egypt’s growing regional leadership in AI, in line with the country’s national AI journey that began with the establishment of the National Artificial Intelligence Council in 2019, followed by the launch of its National AI Strategy in 2021 and the Responsible AI Charter in 2023.
AI Everything MEA 2026 will highlight AI applications across government, fintech, healthcare, cybersecurity, data centers, robotics, and digital infrastructure, positioning Cairo as a central hub for regional and international AI dialogue.
It features key speakers, including Abdulaziz Almalik, Saudi Deputy Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture; Mohamed Alkuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security for the UAE Government; Pastora Valero, SVP of International Government Affairs for EMEA & APJC at CISCO; Mirna Arif, General Manager for Middle East & Africa Growth Markets at Microsoft; and others.
Hosting the event for the first time in Cairo reflects the confidence of the international community in Egypt’s human and technological capabilities. It underscores the country’s commitment to using AI to drive economic and social development.
