Doha – Sharikat Mubasher: Qatar Development Bank (QDB) led a $3.6 million Series A funding round in Wellbees, a US-based AI-powered employee wellbeing platform, as part of efforts to support workforce innovation and digital transformation in Qatar and the wider Gulf region.

As per a recent press release, this investment coincides with the opening of Wellbees’ new office in Qatar, which will serve as a regional hub for the company’s GCC expansion plans. Existing investors include 212, A-Typical Ventures, Arya VC, SABAH.fund, Sabancı Ventures, Sharks & Partners, and several angel investors also participated in the round.

Founded in 2021 by Melis Abacıoğlu, Wellbees provides an AI-driven platform that helps organizations support employee wellbeing across areas including mental, physical, emotional, financial, and social health. The company currently operates in the UAE, the UK, the US, and Türkiye.

The fresh capital will be used to accelerate growth across Gulf markets, expand regional hiring, and strengthen the platform’s artificial intelligence and product development capabilities.
