
Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Ericsson officially opened its new regional headquarters in Riyadh, marking a major step in its strategy to lead digital transformation across the Middle East and North Africa.
Positioning Riyadh as its central hub, Ericsson aims to align more closely with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, leveraging the Kingdom’s strong infrastructure, strategic location, and growing tech talent, as per its official press release.
The move reflects Ericsson’s confidence in Saudi Arabia’s role as a regional innovation powerhouse.
Patrick Johansson, Senior Vice President and Head of Market Area Europe, Middle East, and Africa commented: “Riyadh isn’t simply where we operate from – it’s where the future of regional connectivity and digital leadership is actively being shaped. Choosing Saudi Arabia as our regional headquarters reflects an ambitious trajectory towards the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.”
Ericsson’s presence in Saudi Arabia spans decades, including its key role in the Kingdom’s nationwide 5G rollout. The new HQ will enhance coordination across diverse markets, supporting initiatives like smart cities, edge computing, and AI, while also deepening ties with local universities and startups.
The company also emphasized its commitment to diversity and talent development, with 52% of graduate hires in the Kingdom being women.
With this expansion, Ericsson reinforces its role in shaping the digital ecosystem from the heart of the region.
