Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia and the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) signed the See Agreement for Expo 2030 Riyadh to set the legal and administrative framework for countries and international organizations participating in the global event.

As per a recent press release, the agreement was signed during Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to France and was attended by Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Saudi Foreign Minister, Dimitri S. Kerkentzes, BIE Secretary General, and Talal Al-Marri, Expo 2030 Riyadh CEO.

Approved by the BIE General Assembly in Paris in June 2026, the agreement defines the conditions and privileges governing official participation. It covers areas including visas and travel, tax and customs procedures, mobility, and technical and administrative requirements.

Kerkentzes said the agreement strengthens the institutional framework between the BIE and Saudi Arabia and provides participants with the support needed to prepare for the Expo.

Al-Marri said the agreement marks an important step in Saudi Arabia’s preparations to welcome countries and international organizations to Riyadh.

Expo 2030 Riyadh will run from 1 October 2030 to 31 March 2031, under the theme “Foresight for Tomorrow.” The event is expected to attract more than 200 official participants and 42 million visits. Following the Expo, the site is planned to become a permanent global village.
