Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) launched the Riyadh Digital Innovation District, a strategic initiative aimed at positioning the Saudi capital as a global hub for technology talent and digital innovation.

According to RCRC's official statement, the initiative aims to attract global technology professionals and build an international ecosystem that gathers talent and entrepreneurship, ultimately developing a strong knowledge-based economy driven by digital leadership and technological innovation.

The Riyadh Digital Innovation District will focus on attracting companies and specialized talent across six core technology domains: AI and big data, cybersecurity, computing and cloud services, the Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain technologies, and robotics and unmanned aerial systems.

The district’s development concept focuses on building an integrated digital business environment in Riyadh to attract technology companies, talent, and investment, and to support the growth of the capital’s digital economy.

Ibrahim Al-Sultan, CEO of RCRC, stated that the initiative will further strengthen Riyadh’s position as a global destination for technology talent, international technology companies, and digital entrepreneurship. He affirmed that this step reflects the commitment and support of the Kingdom’s leadership in advancing the capital toward a leading global position in future sectors, in line with Vision 2020’s objectives to build a diversified and prosperous economy driven by digital leadership, technological innovation, and digital transformation.

Created to accelerate Riyadh’s transformation into one of the world’s top 10 technology hubs, the District offers an enabling technological and regulatory environment for global and regional technology companies and startups to establish their business in Riyadh and scale from there across the Middle East and North Africa.
