Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The AI data cloud company Snowflake is expected to invest SAR 1.125 billion ($300 million) in Saudi Arabia operations through 2030 to solidify its business and support the Kingdom’s digital future.
The investment will support the company’s regional headquarters (RHQ) and hiring processes, AI skills development, and expanding cloud infrastructure, partner ecosystem, and broader operations in Saudi Arabia, the company announced in a press release today.
As part of its long-term strategy, Snowflake will collaborate with the Saudi Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) to support the Kingdom’s digital transformation and AI growth.
Snowflake will dedicate the projected investments to support local customer requirements through its newly opened regional headquarters (RHQ) in Riyadh by expanding its local team and developing the regional partner ecosystem.
Together, Snowflake and MCIT will deliver the One Million Minds program designed to enable data and AI upskilling for up to 25,000 learners.
The investment will further accelerate Snowflake’s plans to launch two additional cloud regions in the Kingdom in the second half (H1) of 2026, offering a truly multi-cloud experience and giving customers greater flexibility to choose the cloud environment that best meets their business, data residency, and sovereignty requirements.
Michel Nader, regional vice president for the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa at Snowflake. “Our projected $300 million investment reflects Snowflake’s confidence in Saudi Arabia and its digital future. Through our global mission to help every enterprise achieve its full potential through data and AI, we intend to contribute meaningfully to Vision 2030 and support the next phase of the nation’s technology ecosystem.”
Through its RHQ in Riyadh and expanded investment in Saudi Arabia, Snowflake will continue working with customers, partners and government stakeholders to broaden access to the AI Data Cloud, strengthen local technical capabilities and contribute to Saudi Arabia’s growing data and AI economy.
